5 things I'd like to see in Opera

zomg decided to tag me, so I guess it's about time I actually respond for a change.

  • Vastly improved developer tools
The current developer tools are just sad, we need something that is actually useful for us developers to use.
  • Immediate removal of unclear 'features'
For some weird reason Opera seems to think it's a good idea to block access to webservers running on strange ports. If my webserver at home runs on port 81, Opera will happily try to run the page, but if my webserver at home runs on port 79, then Opera will deny me access to my system. Opera is client-side software, it should never make decisions for me when it comes to the server-side of things - and if it does, it should provide a list of precisely what ports are blocked.
  • Auto-updating of the browser
Most users will not visit Opera every now and then to update their browser, not even if Opera shows them a little window that says their version is upgraded. Much like Firefox, Opera should automatically download new stable versions and the user should be given an option to either install this version or install it after the next restart.
  • Synchronisation support
Opera should allow you to sync your bookmarks/notes/userjs with a central server.
  • Vastly improved UserJS support
UserJS and GreaseMonkey scripts can be dumped in a directory where Opera supposedly uses them. There is however no way of seeing if these scripts actually work, which ones are currently being applied to the page, and removal of scripts is also something that requires you to manually delete them. Opera should provide better debugging tools as well as a manager to enable/disable and remove scripts.
